Fantastic fishing - we are the only lodge on the lake

Fishing at Oak Lake Lodge is fantastic. Our remote canadian wilderness fly-in fishing lodge is the only lodge on all of Oak Lake. This means that you are not competing for fish with fisherman visiting other lodges. Catering to no more than 32 guests at a time, Oak Lake Lodge ensures that the lake will never be over-fished.

Oak Lake is a protected waterway

Further, the lake itself is a protected Waterway Provincial Park ensuring its continued success in producing an abundance of walleye, northern pike, musky, and small mouth bass.

Oak Lake is part of the pristine English River System in upper NorthWestern Ontario The water that flows through the lake is oxygen rich and is filled with an abundance of food for the fish. Our equipment is always new

Great equipment. We aim to please. Part of our service is to provide you with excellent resources so that you can enjoy your fishing. That is why we use 17’ Lund Outfitter guided boats, new motors, safety vests, paddles, wet locker for your fish, sturdy up-right padded chairs, and a bait service at our Tuck Shop. Our docks are new and in great condition with slip-resistant material for your protection. We have a fish-cleaning house – and will we clean and freeze your fish for you!. It is our job is to make sure you are enjoying yourself.

Clean and comfortable accommodations with the most modern amenities

Your cabin is kept spotless. You have heat, electricity, clean running water, hot showers, flush toilets. We vacuum and scrub to ensure that your living space is clean. The cabins are carpeted and well furnished. The main living area, includes a large dining table so you can enjoy those late-night cards games, etc., a refrigerator for your beverages, a fireplace -- with chopped logs (we even light your fireplace – if it gets cold enough), sofas, armchairs, tables.

Screened in porches

The porches are screened in so you aren’t fighting off any late night pests. Enjoy the incredible sunsets from our lounge chairs. The bedrooms include beds with clean linens, blankets and pillows, bedside lamps, curtains on the windows and dressers. So, settle in! The bathrooms are modern -- flush toilets, hot showers, and big fluffy towels. All water that enters the cabins has been filtered so that you can drink the water safely. All of these features will make your visit more enjoyable and comfortable.

What makes our guides different -- a difference that can give you a better than ever fishing experience? They are professionals. Guiding and hunting have been their livelihood since they were children. The guides at Oak Lake Lodge grew up in a small village in Quebec where they learned how to hunt, fish and trap from their father. Hunting, fishing and trapping was a way of life -- where the luxury of electricity wasn't seen until the 1960s.

Convenience

Everything you need is available. For your convenience, we have a Tuck Shop, which sells clothing, ad specialties and other mementos of your time at Oak Lake. These are great gifts for your family or friends at home. The tuck shop also sells: pop, beer, fishing equipment, minnows, and fishing licenses -- all at reasonable prices. In the tuck shop, we also have a radiophone for emergency calls.

Well-planned - we think of the details

Our canadian wilderness fly-in fishing trips are well-planned. Our flights arrive very early in the morning so that you are getting the most “bang for your buck”. How does it work? We get you out on the lake fishing very shortly after arriving at our lodge. You fly to International Falls, take a van service over the US/Canada border to Nestor Falls, ON, Canada or Vermillion Bay, ON. You stay overnight in Nestor Falls or Vermillion Bay. The next morning, in the very early a.m., you are on a floatplane headed for Oak Lake Lodge. Shortly after your arrival, you are on the lake fishing!
