We are the only lodge on the lake
Oak Lake Lodge is a fly-in only fishing and hunting lodge on Oak Lake, which is 210 air miles from the U.S./Canada border. See map. Oak Lake is part of the English River System and it actually looks like a large widening of the English River. The lake is 27 miles long, 108 feet deep, 10,336 acres in size, and it has water entering it from over 2 dozen tributaries as well as the English River. There are no industries on any of the waterways leading into Oak Lake and Oak Lake Lodge is the only fishing lodge on Oak Lake. Therefore, you will enjoy a very exclusive vacation on extremely pristine waters. The lake's exclusivity is not only from the fact that there is no road access, but also because reaching the lake by boat is limited because of a set of waterfalls. All of these factors make the fishing at Oak Lake a terrific experience.

Professional and friendly guides
The fishing and the hunting at Oak Lake are very much enhanced by the professional and friendly guides at the Lodge. The five guides have over 90 years combined experience hunting and fishing in Canada. You will enjoy the expertise of the guides and may not ever meet people with more experience. Besides the guides, we have a terrific staff who cooks wonderful meals and keeps the entire lodge area clean.

Excellent meals
The kitchen staff prepares your breakfast meals and supper meals, as well as, the side dishes for your shore lunches. The guides prepare the shore lunches. All guests receive the benefit of a prepared shore lunch, whether or not you hire a guide. The staff also cleans your cottage everyday when you are out in the boats or in the woods hunting. In the morning, staff brings coffee to your cottage and in the evening, they bring ice for your beverages.
Of course, our facilities accommodate hunters very well during the fall. Oak Lake Lodge uses archery as the only method to hunt. We can arrange a memorable bear or moose hunt for you. See hunting for more information.
